03 / How a part becomes a part

Seven checkpoints from drawing to delivery.

Use this sequence to define the scope of an inquiry. Timing, testing, manufacturing arrangements and acceptance criteria are confirmed for each project.

  1. 01

    Inquiry & DFM review

    Confirm for your project

Share a drawing, critical dimensions, application and expected volume. Identify questions for design-for-manufacturing review.

  2. 02

    Material selection

    Confirm for your project

Compare candidate compounds and obtain the relevant technical data and test documentation. Confirm material requirements before tooling.

  3. 03

    Tool design & sampling

    Confirm for your project

Agree tooling scope, ownership, sample quantity, cost and target dates in writing. Evaluate initial samples before committing to production.

  4. 04

    Validation & PPAP

    Confirm for your project

Define inspection and validation requirements, including any FAI or PPAP documents needed. Confirm who approves the samples and acceptance criteria.

  5. 05

    Series production

    Confirm for your project

Confirm the production site, molding process, capacity and agreed quality controls with our factory.

  6. 06

    Post-processing

    Confirm for your project

Specify any deflashing, post-curing, marking, assembly or cleaning steps and their acceptance criteria.

  7. 07

    Pack & ship

    Confirm for your project

Agree packaging, delivery terms, destination, shipping documents and any lot-specific reports in the quotation.

07 / Questions buyers ask

Answers before you send a drawing.

What compliance documents should I request?

Request the applicable material data, certificates and test reports. Verify the named holder, scope, validity and relevance to the intended part; listed standards are review topics, not proof of certification.

What information helps prepare a quote?

Send a drawing, quantity, intended use, destination market, critical dimensions and target date. Response timing and quotation scope depend on the information and review required.

What drawing formats can I send?

The inquiry form supports drawings and reference documents such as STEP, IGES, PDF and images. Include units and identify critical dimensions.

How is the tooling schedule agreed?

Confirm tooling scope, sample quantity, validation steps and dates in the written quotation. Catalog lead-time examples do not establish a delivery commitment.

How do I verify your factory?

Silicraft makes your parts in our own plant. Ask for our legal entity name, production address, manufacturing scope and quality documentation, and confirm which plant will mould and inspect them.
